St Andrews Ruin

This is a monochrome photo that I took of a 11th century ruin called St Andrews located in Calceby in Lincolnshire (U.K).

A former parish church, now ruined, dating from the 11th century which was constructed of coursed chalk rubble with greenstone dressings and facing to chancel. The tower and nave walls survive in part up to about twenty feet and contain some herringbone masonry.

There was rumours that local buried skeletons where found in the area after part of the hill fell away leaving the once buried bones exposed. there was also rumours that some of these bones and rags still had traces of bubonic plague on them.
